Welcome to the 4th Annual Witches & Witchcraft Reading Challenge!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the 2012, 2013, & 2014  Witches & Witchcraft Reading Challenges!

I hope you all had as much fun as I did! Welcome to the 2015 Challenge!!

My Goals

I’m shooting for Mother Level: Read 11 – 15 Witchy Books this year!!

Rules

• Low commitment…you can sign up to read just ONE book as an INITIATE!!!
• Participants who choose to link up reviews will be entered for the end of year prize!!

Challenge Rules:

• This challenge will run from Jan 1, 2015 – Dec 31, 2015. I will be posting a place to link up a sign-up post (below), reviews and a wrap-up post. (Note: You do not have to review the books to participate, but only those who link up reviews will be entered for the prize)
• Grab the reading challenge button (code & button below) and post this reading challenge on your blog to track your progress. Please include a link back to this sign-up post so others can join the reading challenge too. You do not have to be a book blogger to participate- you could track your progress and post reviews on Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, etc.
• Any full length book that includes a witch as a main character or includes major witchcraft elements counts. They may be fiction or non-fiction. However, they should not be reference books which are not read cover to cover-I will leave this to your discretion.
• Books can be any format (bound, eBook, audio).
• Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.
• You can list your books in advance or just put them in a wrap-up post. If you list them, feel free to change them as the mood takes you.
• When you sign up in the linky put the direct link to your post about joining the 2015 Witches & Witchcraft Reading Challenge, not just a link to your blog.
• You can move up levels, but no moving down.
• Sign-ups will be open until Dec 15, 2015, so feel free to join at any time throughout the year.

Participants who have officially signed up by linking up a sign-up post declaring their level will be given one entry for every review they link up. We’ve had so much fun with the Audiobook Challenge so it’s coming back for 2015! Join The Book Nympho and Hot Listens for the 3rd year of great audiobooks.

Audiobooks are great for those times you want to read but can’t for some reason like driving, doing chores, working out, or if you’re one of the lucky ones like me, listen to them at work.

I know some of you are thinking, audio books? Pass. I thought that once too. But when you find a great narrator they can make the story even better. There are some series I will only listen even if I can get the Arc I’ll wait until the audio is available because the narrator does such a great job bring the book to life.

Reading Challenge Details:

• Runs January 1, 2015 – December 31, 2015. You can join at anytime.
• The goal is to find a new love for audios or to outdo yourself by listening to more audios in 2015 than you did in 2014.
• Books must be in audio format (CD, MP3, etc.)
• ANY genres count.
• Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.
• You do not have to be a book blogger to participate; you can track your progress on Goodreads, Shelfari, Booklikes, Facebook, LibraryThing, etc. – I’ve created a Goodreads Group for the challenge, feel free to join.
• If you’re a blogger grab the button (on the sidebar) and do a quick post about the challenge to help spread the word. If you’re not a blogger you can help by posting on Facebook or Tweeting about the challenge.

By request, a new level (Marathoner) has been added this year for the hardcore listeners and the numbers for My Precious has been changed from 30+ to 30-50.

• Stenographer (can listen while multi-tasking) 10-15
• Socially Awkward (Don’t talk to me) 15-20
• Binge Listener (Why read when someone can do it for you) 20-30
• My Precious (I had my earbuds surgically implanted) 30-50
• Marathoner (Look Ma no hands) 50+

We’ve decided to go back to having quarterly updates to help keep everyone motivated and to snag new participants through out the year. There will be posts on the following dates for you guys to check in to let us know how your listening is going for 2015.

Mocha Girls 15 Reading Challenge Sign Up

Happy Holidays ladies! While there are many reading challenges out there for you to choose from, we thought it might be fun to do a Mocha Girls inspired challenge. The challenge is simple. The idea is to have fun reading books with titles that will spell out “MOCHA GIRLS 15” by the end of the year.

How it Works:

You can do this challenge in many ways: 

1) Choose books with TITLES that spell out “Mocha Girls” (1 title per letter of the alphabet). The title must begin with the letter you are completing.

2) Choose books whose authors LAST names spell out “Mocha Girls” (1 name per letter of the alphabet). The author’s last name must begin with the letter you are completing.

3) Combine BOTH of the above; however, you can only have one title or author’s name per letter of the alphabet.

4) Choose two books with TITLES that start with ONE and FIVE to complete “Mocha Girls 15″ . The title must begin with the number you are completing.

C - The House Girl by Tara Conklin

Levels:

To keep things fun, choose the level from the three options below you feel most comfortable attempting. However, once you pick a level, please stick to it throughout the challenge.

1. Off like a rocket – completion of spelling “Mocha Girls” (this way, you only read 10 books)
2. Out of this world - completion of spelling “Mocha Girl” and adding the “15” (this way, you read 12 books)
3. Warp speed –  completing levels 1 and 2, AND reading all 2015 Books of the Month (a whooping 24 books)

If you complete the level you signed up for, you will be entered for a giveaway valued at $30.00!

Time to clean up those e-readers! Welcome to the sign up page for the 2015 EBook Reading Challenge!

Challenge Guidelines:

This challenge will run from Jan 1, 2015 – Dec 31, 2015.

Anyone can join, you don’t need to be a blogger. If you don’t have a blog, feel free to sign-up in the comments. You can post reviews to any book site (i.e. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Goodreads, etc).

Any genre or length of book counts, as long as it is in ebook format.

You can plan your books in advance or as you read them.

When you sign up in the linky, put the direct link to your post about joining the E-Book Reading Challenge.

Sign-ups will be open throughout 2015, so feel free to join at any time during the year.

Reading Road Trip 2015 Challenge

Hello everyone, for 2015 I've decided to do something a little different. 

I've decided to host my own challenge called the Reading Road Trip 

Challenge here at She's Got Books on Her Mind. I've heard about 

people challenging themselves to read books from the 50 states

 before and I wanted to do it too for 2015. 

I haven't seen it around as a yearly challenge so I created my own

 little challenge for myself and for anyone else who wants to join up. 

If you do want to join up, below is some general info about the challenge

 and you can post your link to your sign up page below. 

The Challenge:

Read at least one book set in all 50 states in the U.S.A.

P.S. For those of you who want to join in but, don't want to read all 

50 books from the 50 states there's a place for you here too.

Some Info:

• This challenge runs all year long from 
• January 1st, 2015 - December 31st, 2015.

• Any book will do. If you wanted to mix and match books or just read picture
•  books set in all 50 states do it. It's a challenge but it's meant to be fun so do 
• what you think will help you complete and enjoy the challenge as best as you
•  can.

• Read books set in a certain state or a book that visits a certain state. 
• For example: Because of Winn-Dixie is set in Florida so when you read it 
• you'll complete the task of reading a book set in Florida. Another example 
• would be Amy and Roger's Epic Detour which has Amy and Roger going 
• on a road trip. One of those states they visit counts as long as they stay for
•  a little while.

• One book can only count for one state not multiple states like with road
•  trip books. Road Trip Book = One State.

• You can move up or down levels.

• Link ups will be posted at the beginning of each month where you 
• can post reviews or updates on your goal. For link ups you can put
•  something like this:

State (Book) @ blog/twitter/goodreads. 

For example: Florida (Because of Winn-Dixie) @BooksOnHerMind

• If you read two or more books from one state you can link up your 
• update or review but it won't count towards your overall goal. It'll 
• just be an awesome bonus.
