My Review:
Oh my gosh!!! This book more than made up for the last book I read in this series that I was unsure of. This book was full; and I mean sit on top of the suitcase to get it closed its so full; of action, mystery and edge of your seat suspense! I love how the action started off from page one and didn't end until the last sentence on the last page of this book. I would have to agree with the goodreads summary when it said, "the most personal, the most dangerous, the most exciting Women's Murder Club novel ever". I picked this book up after supper one night and found myself begrudgingly putting it down at midnight when I just knew I had to get to sleep for the night. I was not too far from finishing the book, but knew sleep was a must. ;-) This was a mystery that tugged at my heartstrings, just like it did for the characters in the the book, especially the female characters. There is a serial killer out there taking the lives of women and their young children. He claims to be willing to stop, but only if the cops give him what he wants and how he wants it. Can they risk giving in to him, will other killers then think they can get money out of the cops to make them stop killing? Why does the killer want the go between to be Lindsay? Can she be brave and smart enough to stop this killer before he strikes again? Then you have the second plot of the "Hello Kitty" burglar who is stealing millions of dollars of jewelry from the rich and famous. Why? Because they can afford to buy more...right? When things go wrong for the burglar and a body is found after the job is done, the burglar will do anything to make sure the wrap for that is not on their head. Truth is, it wasn't the burglar, but who wants to believe a thief right? Also, if the burglar is right and truthful, then why did the killer strike and place blame on the thief? The plots are so different, yet they slowly morph to connect in a weird sort of way. Throw into this wild and crazy ride of murders, burglaries, and action...the relationship issues of the women of the Murder Club and you have one wild ride of a book! I think this was actually one of my favorite books so far in this series.

My Review:
I must say that this was a good continuation in the series, but I found myself just not quite as into it as I was the ones before it. I really can't even describe why, I just wasn't. It was fairly quick paced, just like the others I have come to love. It was a little slower, but still was a book that I looked forward to picking up again when I put it down. The descriptions didn't seem quite as in depth as books before this one, maybe that was why I had a rougher time loving it. There were descriptions, but not those "zing, can see it clear as a bell in your mind while reading" descriptions. Another thing that may have not lived up to my hopes was the mystery of it all. I found that, yes there was mystery to it, but I had it figured out early on in the book. Also, there was not many side shoots to the plot this time around. I was reading on just waiting for the other shoe to drop and the big final twist of the plot to happen, but it never really did. It ended with me having had it all figured out, no twists, no turns, simply solved and done. This book seemed more focused on the relationship aspects of the ladies of the Women's Murder Club. This was ok to see, but not the "usual" for Patterson, from things I've read of his anyway, especially in this series. I did enjoy seeing the relationships and how the ladies lives are taking different directions and turns than they have been. I really love watching Lindsay and Joe and Lindsay and Rich. I can't help but always root for Rich, even though I know it will be Joe she stays with. What a twist to see Cindy go after Rich! Lindsay then has to fight with all these feelings she was hoping would just go away if she ignored them. Plus Yuki finding a prospect in the relationship department was surprising to me, not sure why per say, just was. Then to have her wonderful Doc and lover reveal his secret past....OH MY GOSH!!!! That was the part of the book that had me staring at the page and actually re-reading the chapters to make sure I really was understanding and reading right. I refuse to spoil, but you have to read this book just to watch all the relationship stuff come to a head. All in all, a good book, just a different spin on the Women's Murder Club than the other books of the series. Still it has the components of greatness that Patterson possesses and puts into his writing.

My Review:
I simply love these between the plums books. It's a nice short, easy, yet still mysterious read. Diesel is by far my most favorite part of these books. He is so mysterious, he reveals just enough about himself to make you wonder who...or what he really is, but never enough to answer those questions you wonder about. I also can't help but laugh at how nonchalant Stephanie has become over the many books in this series, about all the men that just seem to come and go in her apartment. They come, they stay, the sleep in her bed, they sort of live with her for a short time, then they go again. Through all that Stephanie now just seems to deem it "normal" for her. I find that hilarious! These books are a great way to tie in a few things to the other books too. There is usually some big event that happens in these short in between books that concludes something from the main books. This time it involved Stephanie's sister Valerie.
This book has Stephanie and Diesel partnering up again. They are trying to figure out a mystery that has caused one of Stephanie's FTA's to go into hiding. This FTA is a big bond and Stephanie has to find her, but only Diesel seems to know how to do that, and he isn't telling Stephanie a darn thing until she helps him solve his mystery too. I can't really give details, as this is a short book with a lot that happens in it and I don't like to be the spoiler. However, this is a great book with a great mystery and many laugh out loud parts to it. One of my favorite laugh out loud parts was when Stephanie sees what her Grandmother has done to her appearance because there was a sale. I could just see it and it made me laugh SO hard!

April was a pretty good month all the way around. I was successful in getting some reading and reviewing done, like I had hoped for. I also did pretty well in my personal life too. Chaos did still happen, but we seem to have finally come to find ways that are working pretty well, to deal with these chaotic times. My health has finally started to even off as well, which makes getting things done way easier. You never know just how much you take your health for granted until you are put on restrictions that may never be lifted, and not by any doctor per say, but by the way your body reacts to every day life. I was so happy about actually reading again and writing my reviews. I am hoping this is the continuing trend for me; maybe not always 8 books a month, but a consistent reading pattern. No more months of 0-2 books! Thanks to all of you who have stuck out this lull with me and for understanding! So here's to the end of one good month, with more good ones to come!!
